Every organisation with 5 or more employees needs a written Health and Safety Policy. We've distilled ours to a few pages and kept it to the point as we know the longer the document the less likely it is it will get read.  By keeping it easy to read and understand, you can know that everyone who needs to read it will do so, which is better (in terms of compliance) than a long document no one reads, ultimately keeping everyone safe. 

Most Risk Assessments we've come across end up confusing things as they done make what is being done to keep everyone safe clear.  We've structured our template to make it easy for everyone to understand what is being done, and what they need to do to keep themselves and others safe.  By listing all hazards into a single document (or one per key area), you simplify your review process and make it easier for everyone to know how to stay safe. 

This supplements the General Risk Assessment above, by helping you clarify the risk associated with any event or activity you do, and helps you put emergency plans in place.  The checklist works with the Risk Assessment which will cover most hazards, and helps you identify any additional hazards that you don't usually have day to day to keep anyone attending the event safe.
